- Abstract
- The emergency contraception pill has been available in Sweden since 1994, in spite of this the abortion rate has not decreased. The purpose with this examination paper was to explore attitudes towards, knowledge and experiences with the emergency contraception pill among supposed consumers. A systematic review was performed and six articles from Sweden, Finland and Great Britain were analyzed. The result shows that the emergency contraception pill is widely known as a good temporary expedient. There was although worry about side effects and that the use of emergency contraception could result in carelessness with other contraceptives.
