- Abstract
- Bangladesh is the most densely populated country in the world with a high poverty rate. It is a man's country and the women are highly disadvantaged in all areas. It is concluded that gender discrimination has a negative impact on women’s reproductive and mental health. In Bangladesh the work of non governmental organisations has improved women's access to social organisations and networks. “Health Eduacion and Economic Development” is a non governmental organisation that, among other things, works for women empowerment through different projects including Mother Clubs.
