Abstract
The purpose of this essay is to emphasize human responsibilities. To begin with, the essay introduces perspectives about the correlation between rights and responsibilities from the philosophers Thomas Pogge and Martha Nussbaum to demonstrate the ongoing discussion. Furthermore, by creating an imaginary world with a declaration of human responsibilities the essay specifically analyzes the responsibility to protect the right to life. The empirical analysis illustrates how this responsibility could function in a real occurrence relatively to people’s moral motivation and distribution of responsibilities. Moreover, the method is a comparative theory analysis based on reasoning about motivation by Leif Wenar and various distribution principles... (More)
The purpose of this essay is to emphasize human responsibilities. Moreover, the method is a comparative theory analysis based on reasoning about motivation by Leif Wenar and various distribution principles by David Miller. One significant factor to consider in the interpretation of this analysis is to be aware of the particular context which is implemented by the essay’s frameworks. Conclusively, the result according to this specific empirical analysis establishes that the principle of capacity would be suitable in an imaginary world with the human responsibility to protect the right to life.
