From a critical perspective, the veto seems to only do harm. It had direct impact for millions of Syrians when it hindered any action in the Security Council. Moreover, it seems to be a threat to the primary responsibility of the Council. Reformation of the veto has throughout the history of the UN failed and little has changed since then.
