Abstract
The aim of the current study was to test and adapt the neuropsychological instrument Faux pas in a group of healthy Swedish adults (N=47), with a Swedish version of the test. Intraclass correlation showed an excellent inter-rater reliability between two raters. Results in this study are considered to be equal to results from previous studies regarding the detection aspect of Faux pas. The relationship between results and gender, age and educational level was investigated and there was a significant tendency that higher educational level resulted in better scores regarding the ability to explain faux pas situations. A group of patients (N=5) diagnosed with behavioral-variant of frontotemporal dementia were also tested with Faux pas. They... (More)

A group of patients (N=5) diagnosed with behavioral-variant of frontotemporal dementia were also tested with Faux pas. They showed low scores regarding the ability to explain faux pas situations, while their results concerning the control questions were high. Modifications in a few items and control questions are advised as well as changing one of the follow-up questions, to enhance the utility of Faux pas. The current study confirms that Faux pas is of significance in neuropsychological testing and is indicating that a qualitative evaluation in the test situation also is required. The conclusion is that Faux pas ought to be of use with patients that have indications of neural changes in frontal areas of the brain. (Less)
Abstract (Swedish)
(More)

(Less)
