To analyze our empirical data we chose to do a qualitative content analysis. We used the agenda-setting theory together with an interpretation of the concept of power, with the intent to explain and understand our material. We also used the term scapegoat in order to analyze the data. When we summarized the material, we found that it was not a pretty picture of the social services that appeared. One of the articles we used showed that examinations like these could give birth to hatred towards the social services. From having gathered all this information from the articles, blogs, chat room conversations and comment fields, we came to the conclusion that the author might be right.
