Schools of today are facing more and more it-technology in teaching. Young people are using the technology both within school and at home because both parents and school staff give them access to it. All this implies a new arena for bullying, also called cyber bullying. The purpose of this study was to explore school staffs view of responsibility regarding cyber bullying, both during and after school time. We also examined how schools view their responsibility of preventing cyber bullying and how they relate to the students' right to privacy in their work against cyber bullying. We completed seven interviews with school staff in three different schools between grade five and nine to gather data for the study. The conclusion of the study implies that school staff had different opinions regarding the responsibility. Some of them suggested that it’s the parent’s responsibility when it happens outside school hours. Others said that it does not matter where it happens; everyone has a responsibility to deal with it. All school staff that we interviewed believed that they will act no matter what if an incident relating to cyber bullying comes to their attention. The school staff also revealed that the prevention of cyber bullying either do not exist or need improvement. Regarding students integrity some of them felt that it was important to have a lot of respect for student privacy, but others argued that it was important to do as much as possible to prevent cyber bullying.
