Abstract
This thesis consists of an extended analysis of Khaver-Paver´s book Labzik. The emphasis is on the book´s didactic elements. Labzik is a Communist children´s book written in America in 1935 by a writer who devoted much of his creativity to the children. The book is written in a highly politicized environment. The economic-political situation for Jews in America during the great depression is clearly reflected in the book and thus makes it an interesting material for analysis. One part of the study concentrates much on the perception of various actions from the ideological perspective. The analysis of the didactic element furthermore involves different types of education. What is the difference between ideological and traditional education?... (More)

One part of the study concentrates much on the perception of various actions from the ideological perspective. The analysis of the didactic element furthermore involves different types of education. What is the difference between ideological and traditional education? Attention has also been given the children´s book as a medium.
The leading questions of the analysis are:
1. Labzik is trained to act ideologically. Other "good" acts he performs emotionally, the "bad" acts as well. What conclusions can we draw from that?

2. Which artistic devices is used in order to teach children to act ideologically?

3. How are different actions being valued according to the ideological apparatous of the book?

The aim of the analysis is to achieve a deeper knowledge of Khaver-Paver´s book. In addition I want to explore what I can find by exposing the didactic devices of the text.

One of the key findings that emerged after the analysis was carried out was the exposure of the didactic mechanism and the deconstruction of the same in its constituents in order to show the didactical function of the book. (Less)
