- What do people think about privately financed culture? Are the opinions about it generally negative? With it’s background in the controversial exhibition Abstract Possible, the aim of this bachelors thesis is to investigate how people think private financing could affect culture, sorting out which arguments that are used in the debate and how people would prefer culture to be financed. My thesis is that people in general are of the opinion that privat financing and thoughts of economy is harmful to culture and art. I’ve tried to sort out which arguments and opinions about effects where the most recurring ones and I’ve also been searching for certain recurring keywords. I verified my thesis but also came to the conclusion that now when society is going through a change becoming more and more economized, this challenges old, well-established views of culture and economy.
