Abstract
This thesis investigates and examines the factors that affect university students’ acceptance and intention to use Facebook, and then identifies the key factors among them. Information systems are growing rapidly and leading new Web 2.0 technologies into education. Therefore, finding the factors influence the user acceptance and intention to use Web 2.0 technologies in education context is recognized as important research issue. The research model for this study is constructed as extended model of Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) in order to investigate the key factors that influence students' behavior intention to use Facebook; based on factors obtained from TAM1, TAM2 and TAM3, and other external factors from literature influence... The research model for this study is constructed as extended model of Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) in order to investigate the key factors that influence students' behavior intention to use Facebook; based on factors obtained from TAM1, TAM2 and TAM3, and other external factors from literature influence Learning 2.0 such as interactivity and perceived mobility. A quantitative research approach is conducted using survey method. The survey was designed to approach the research model. Data were collected from a sample of undergraduate students from University of Bahrain (UOB), Kingdom of Bahrain. Regression analysis was used to test the predictive power of the proposed factors of the research model. The findings present that perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, experience, Self-efficacy, perceived of enjoyment and perceived mobility value are the key dominant factors. The findings verified that TAM can be employed to explore and predict the students' acceptance and intention to use Learning 2.0. In addition, Facebook can be a practical implementation of Learning 2.0, this research determines the importance and benefits of the integration of web 2.0 technologies with e-learning in universities, and encourage universities to recognize the need of applying Learning 2.0 technologies in their education.
