- Abstract
- Landskrona appears in many contexts as a city with constant social problems and violent crime. These are mainly linked to the central areas. Although, if you look at statistics of violent crime of Landskrona the numbers have actually decreased in recent years. Therefore the thesis of this paper is about violent crime in the city of Landskrona. My approach has been applying two different theories of crime and violence on Landskrona to see to what extent they could explain the problems in the city. My conclusion is that both theories have many aspects that may be consistent with Landskrona. However, my results cannot show exactly what could explain the problems of violence, but instead they can give a pattern image of the various factors that may have an impact on the violence in the city.
