there is no formalized Swedish test proeecture to investigate prosadie problems.
The aim of this stud y was to investigate to what ex tent and in what way speech and Janguage

The stud y is based on 216 records written by speech and Janguage pathologists from the
Department ofPhoniatrics and Logopedics at Lund University Hospital. Records were
selected from patients of age O to 14 years, who, regardless of diagnosis, had been in contact
with the elinie during 2002. All of the records were analysed by both authors. The record
no tes were campared with the directives f o und in the manual of the computerized record
system Melior. Melior has been used at the Department ofPhoniatrics and Logopedics since
1998.
The results show that speech and Janguage pathologists do make nates in the records about
prosody. No tes a bo ut prosadie problems were found in 51 % of the records. However, the
variation conceming choice ofheadings in the records, under which prosodi c features are
described, was ]arge. The heading Prosody was used in 12,5 %of all records. Most nates
under this heading were descriptive. The results also show that there is a significantly stronger
connection between the diagnosis F80.0, Specific impairment of articulation abi!ity, and nate
about prosadie problem, than for F80.1, Expressive language impairment, and F80.2,
Receptive language impairment. (Less)
