Spårväg i Helsingborg - En idéstudie och förprojektering av två spårvägslinjer mellan Trädgårdsgatan och Hälsovägen

Abstract
This thesis is a combined conceptual study and preliminary design of two study options for a future tramway line between Trädgårdsgatan and Hälsovägen in Helsingborg. This line is of great interest since it’s centrally located and regarded as a problematic stretch of narrow streets, heavy traffic and steep gradients. In addition, a local tramway line in Helsingborg is regarded as a priority project to be investigated as an introductory study by Region Skåne done in 2007. The regional cooperation program Spårvagnar i Skåne (SPIS) has created a guidance document regarding technical regulations and guidelines for planning and design of tramway in Scania. All planning and design in this thesis is based on this guide. Two study options have... (More)

The regional cooperation program Spårvagnar i Skåne (SPIS) has created a guidance document regarding technical regulations and guidelines for planning and design of tramway in Scania. All planning and design in this thesis is based on this guide. Two study options have been identified. UA1 extends through St. Pedersgatan and Mellersta Stenbocksgatan at Olympia while UA2 leads through Rektorsgatan on Slottshöjden. Table 4: Length, average speed and travelling time for UA1 (Blue line).
Length 2190 m
Average speed 30,6 km/h
Travelling time 4 min 18 sec Table 5: Length, average speed and travelling time for UA2 (Red line).
Length 1960 m
Average speed 31,2 km/h
Travelling time 3 min 45 sec In summary, UA1 a longer line with a slightly lower average speed. A comparison between different communication means at the corresponding distance: Table 6: Comparison of travelling time between tram, local bus and car on route Helsingborg C - Stattena.
Tramway UA1 4 min 18 sec
Tramway UA2 3 min 45 sec
Local bus 7 min *
Car 5-7 min ** * Travelling time based on Skånetrafiken timetable from Helsingborg C - Helsingborg Stattena. Actual travel time is dependent on traffic volume. ** Estimated driving time of fastest route with no traffic in 4 minutes with a mileage of 2.0 miles from Trädgårdsgatan to a final position on Hälsovägen. This stretch is very busy with four stoplights. Actual travelling time is longer, so we have estimated an additional 1-3 minutes depending on traffic and stopping at traffic lights. UA1 allows an advantageous station location on Mellersta Stenbocksgatan, while UA2 have to have a crowded station located on Rektorsgatan. (Less)
