- Abstract
- This is a qualitative, semi-structured bachelor thesis, within the social work,
Bachelor of Science program. The purpose of this thesis is to identify whether
seven of the Swedish social work educations perspective on service users as guest

We interviewed representatives from seven different educational institutions for

We interviewed representatives from seven different educational institutions for
social work, via telephone and each chose a faculty member as a representative.
The thesis shows that although the institutions express that the service user’s
knowledge is a valuable contribution to the social work education, there are many
aspects of our interviews that point towards the opposite. You can argue that this
contradiction is a sign of the institutes using the collaboration with service users
to, through co-optation, manage how they are being perceived by society. (Less)
