Abstract
The aim of this study was to investigate if it is possible to dry concrete samples in a microwave aven without damaging the concrete. This method could, if it is possible, fadilitate the work in many laboratories today. In the beginning of the work a theoretical study over the behavior
of the microwaves is done. Same different areas in the construction business where it is possible to use microwaves, is also mentioned in the text.
The practical part of the work beginns with same experiments where the possibility of drying concrete aggregate is investigated. The results from these experiments were very good and the use of the microwave aven for this purpuse can easily be recomended.

The results from the experiments with concrete samples are not so easy to interpret. According to the results, it is possible to dry the samples in the microwave aven but simultaneusly with the drying a loss in strength has been observed. This is probably eaused by the high staampreassure
that occur in the concrete during the drying process.
The use of the microwave aven for drying concrete samples can therefore not be recomended at this time. More investigations has to be done in order to clear the remaining questions. (Less)
