The perspective in the study is towards the nurses with supervisory work tasks and how they experience their own work situation. Which factors affect the situation? Is there a team spirit within the team? Data have been gathered by interviewing fourteen nurses with supervisory work roles in four different focus groups with 3-4 nurses in each group. The result shows the importance of working with a stable team and the risks of working with substitute caregivers. The result also shows a varied perceived security concerning support from chiefs at/after a critical situations as well as unclear PMs which can be interpreted in different ways. The authors discuss how the supervisors can be prepared to better handle threat and violence situations and the importance of mirroring severe events. (Less)
