- Abstract
- Through this degree project, we have come up with effective methods in the computer program ArchiCAD that architects use during project planning for buildings. The purpose of the degree project was to examine how architects and software developers use ArchiCAD effectively, in the building process so that also information transfer to other actors works. The theory of the degree project deals with the building process, the concept of BIM software that has been linked to ArchiCAD and BIM. The theory also deals with functions and features in ArchiCAD. Information collection of the degree project is based on qualitative interviews with selected architects and software developers.
Some information is collected from websites, reports, books,... Some information is collected from websites, reports, books, manuals and through practical study. Building Process is large and complex, involving many stakeholders.
It requires standards to get everyone to work in the same way and effectively take advantage of the collected information. We have in our degree project shown a number of effective ways of working with ArchiCAD that can be seen as a standardized way to create and convey the information further. The interviews showed that the greatest gains will be only then BIM is fully utilized throughout the construction process, from architects and engineers in the design, construction workers in production, finally the management stage.
