- Abstract
- The aim of this master thesis is to use a risk analysis model to compare the resulting safety level in connection to evacuation of a certain type of building for two types of authority-approved design methods. The purpose of this is to identify if any diffrences in safety level between the two methods can be identified. This is of interest since the Swedish National Board of Housing, Building and Planning recently introduced more regulated guidelines for fire safety engineering methods, BBRAD. The results of the analysis indicates that BBRAD fulfills its purpose by in this case giving a safety level that is higher than the reference level given by pre-accepted solutions which is accepted by society. The results may also be of interest for... (More)

The results may also be of interest for other countries who are interested in introducing more regulated fire safety engineering methods. In the Nordic standardization cooperation, INSTA 950, there are such preconditions and thus the results of this report can serve as a source of inspiration in this context. (Less)
