By studying texts produced by the government I identify some of the central truth-claims in the government's representation of energy politics. By confronting these truth-claims with scientifically established alternative representations, I destabilize the truth-claims and make it visible that these claims can be viewed as political and relational. Through this procedure I come to the conclusion that the government makes several problematic truth-claims in their representation, especially concerning sustainability, the rationality of key subjects and the market. The implications and problems of such truth-claims and ecogovernmentality are discussed in the final chapter. (Less)
