- Finding missing people in need of rescue is
an important but difficult job for the search

Focus was on the interaction, durability and
expression of the product.
The interaction with the search unit should
be intuitive and easy, so that the rescue
personnel can have focus elsewhere. It should
be easy to handle together with other
equipment and protective clothing. The
structure and material should be durable to
cope with extreme weather and temperatures.
Finally it should have an expression that is
professional and fits the brand identity of
ResQU.
Through study visits, interviews with users,
research of technical possibilities and
limitation, and analyses of the system that
the product is a part of et.c. the requirements
for the design was identified.
The result is a design proposal that aims to
simplify the use through limiting the number
operations needed, and giving clear feedback.
It is adapted to be possible to use with thick
gloves and to be brought along with low
effort. It is compact and robust to cope with
rough handling. Finally colors and shape are
used to give the impression of being able to
save lives, professional, robust and easy to
use. (Less)
