Abstract
The purpose of this study is to examine and compare how companies work with environmental management in their supply chains and how far back in the value chain their environmental control extends. The study’s results show that the interviewed companies have a proactive environmental strategy and work with environmental management in the supply chain. Both companies have a focus on the supply chain in their environmental goals. We have observed that the control of suppliers only extends to the nearest supplier. During the study, we observed that the companies’ sustainability reports contain information that our respondents were not aware of.
