To answer these questions the theoretical framework of heterosexual matrix developed by Judith Butler and a queer approach of resistance influenced by Tiina Rosenberg, Judith Butler and Fanny Ambjörnsson are applied. The thesis shows that the young, self-identified female feminists both share possibilities and restraints regarding the norms that affect their sexuality. Moreover, it elucidates the different approaches they use to question and subvert the norms which they perceive restrain their sexual expression. Yet, this resistance does sometimes end up in ambivalent positions between their ideology and practice which they then have to negotiate. These conclusions are drawn based on the data that I have obtained through conducting fourteen semi-structural interviews with young, female self-identified feminists in the south of Sweden. (Less)
