Abstract
This project started from a will to understand and
reflect over our behaviours and ourselves; as designers,
as individuals and as users. The first part of the project
reflects this will through a deep research on two
intertwined, polarized yet highly mutually dependent
Human attributes; rational thinking on the one hand
and emotional thinking on the other. The research has
an open end; it gives answer on Human perception,
processing and behaviour and can be used or misused
in various different fields. The second part of the
project is our interpretation and translation of this
research into product design. The project plays on

project is our interpretation and translation of this
research into product design. The project plays on
the previously mentioned dichotomy yet inseparable
rational and emotional states in various dimensions.
Shapes, dimensions, materials, functions and so forth
speak for inviting/uninviting, playful/strict, visible/hidden
attributes. The project is in it essence an attempt to
create meaningful and valuable design by addressing
rational respectively emotional needs. Furthermore
it is driven by an aspiration of creating affinity and
unity between product and user, where a mechanical
interaction or interplay is needed. (Less)
