- Abstract
- This study aims to show how young women feel about their abilities to reach their work-related goals and how their social behavior, specifically self-presentation, affects the outcome. By using a qualitative method, analyzes of the interviews can be made to get a deeper knowledge about the subject. The result of this study showed that all of the women had set high work-related goals for themselves, but they were all exposed to some obstacles during their way to reaching their goals. Their competence was questioned, according to themselves because of their young age and their sex. They had to work harder to prove their competence because of existing gender norms.
