- Abstract
- This report covers the process and result in developing a hand
hygiene station for a public environment. With disease spread
getting more focus in todays media and society, we wanted to
explore and develop a product that is helpful in decreasing the
disease spread in our global society.
Research was mainly conducted by information gathering from
second hand sources, such as scientific- and trend reports

After the research demarcations to focus on the hands as main

We chose to focus the project around the Öresunds region, in
the southern part of Sweden.
The end result is a concept Hand hygiene station that allows
for six persons to use it at the same time.
The station uses a new technology called ultra short pulsed
laser that inactivates pathogens through vibration.
The concept was developed mainly through sketching, model
making to then be finalized through CAD models and a physical
scale model. (Less)
