Abstract
In a time where trans and international organizations stimulate an increase in world interconnectedness, interchange and dependence the state finds itself in a new world order. Depending on, if the state chooses to adapt or resist these forces of globalization the modern state finds its constellation challenged. The aim of this essay is to investigate the Swedish left wing party, Socialdemokraterna, the right wing party, Moderata samlingspartiet, and Sverigedemokraterna`s position in how they want the state to meet the forces of globalisation. Depending on, if the state chooses to adapt or resist these forces of globalization the modern state finds its constellation challenged. The aim of this essay is to investigate the Swedish left wing party, Socialdemokraterna, the right wing party, Moderata samlingspartiet, and Sverigedemokraterna`s position in how they want the state to meet the forces of globalisation. I investigate what areas of the state that have been affected by the forces of globalization. Through an idea analysis I shed light on what ideas and ideological viewpoints that are expressed by the parties and determine if they want the state to adapt or resist the effects of globalization. In the end I conclude that both political strategies are expressed in the Swedish political landscape. (Less)
