During this review all environmental aspects of the plant are to be identified and evaluated. The aim is to provide Skövde Värmeverk with adequate grounds to continue establishing theirenvironmental management system in compliance with ISO 14001.To make the review possible all of the different activities and processes of the plant have beendescribed. Furthermore, all existing documents that concern the environmental practice of the plant andlegal regulations that may affect it have been examined. A short risk assessment has also been put together. There is no commonly accepted method for evaluating ones environmental aspects to this day. Therefore an examination has been performed concerning evaluation methods existing in Sweden today. The different methods are briefly discussed and compared to each other. Using this study as a starting pointa method is then chosen and adjusted for evaluating the environmental aspects of Lövängsverket. To evaluate environmental aspects is often described as a very problematic procedure. It has beenconsidered to be so during this review as well. It is in all probability not possible to find one universalmethod for evaluating ones environmental aspects. This is mainly because of the fact that there are toomany different types of organisations and companies using environmental management systems today andthese have very different requirements concerning evaluation methods. There is however a need for morestraightforward guidelines regarding how companies can choose their own method for evaluating theirenvironmental aspects. (Less)
