Like an Office.

- Abstract (Swedish)
- Like an Office is a project about leaving the school premises and meeting people with a different perspective on design. We have been working for local entrepreneurs and organizations to explore what non-designers expect from us as prospective professionals.
We started off by taking on smaller tasks that were delivered to clients on an agreed deadline. As the project progressed we developed the “Potential tumbler”, a tool to evaluate projects and to bring in extra value to the result, leaving a quality signature. This led us to some projects that began within the time period of the BA but are now progressing forward with the aim to be put in production.

We have been exploring what it means to go from idea to prototype
and from prototype to production. At first we hoped to take on a new
project every two or three weeks, but as the projects developed and
became more comprehensive we decided to focus on fewer but larger
tasks. Rather than starting a new project we found it more interesting to develop a delivered concept further than initially asked to. This second phase gave us a better opportunity to create a quality product signum.
During the BA project we have been working on graphic profiling,
products to define a business and also straightforward product development. Some of the projects have been very unrestrained while others have been very specific to the client. Like an Office have also been running independent projects in parallel with the business. We will continue to work as a design duo and are right now in the process of patent researching one of our projects.
The products of Like an Office are not considered to be the result
of this BA project; we see the partnership and experience as the final outcome. (Less)
