- Abstract
- When choosing topic for my project I felt the urge to work threedimensionally and develop shapes with my hands.
Before starting the industrial design education I had taken some classes in ceramics and now I wanted to integrate ceramics in my design work.

Flexibility in both form and function, simple and clean lines, good quality and a material that ages beautifully were factors I used in my aim to encourage a long term use.
To try and counteract the behaviour of throwing away things and replace them with new ones felt important to me.
The product I finally created was a round side table in oak and with a removable ceramic table top that withstands hot cups and wet stains.
Thanks to the wheels it is easy to move it around without lifting. One can keep it where it is needed at all times, by the bed, in the hallway, in the bathroom, by the sofa - when having tea or just when there is a need for some extra storage space.
The ceramic tray is easily removable from the wooden table but the edges underneath makes it stay in place. (Less)
