- Konflikten i Jugoslavien under första halvan av 1990-talet medförde en vidare diskussion an-gående sexuella brott och ämnet etnisk rensning. Inom Förenta Nationerna så gav diskussion-en upphov till Säkerhetsrådets Resolution 780 som i sin tur etablerade "Final Report of the Commission of Experts Established Pursuant to Security Council Resolution 780". Denna rap-port är studieobjektet för den här uppsatsen och berättar om en brett urval av ämnen inom spektrumet gällande handlingar som både kunde räknas vara tydliga och mindre tydliga brott. För att utföra undersökningen har vi använt oss av Carol Lee Bacchi’s ’What’s the problem represented to be?” som är en diskursanalys bestående av både metod och teori. Bacchis metod fokuserar främst på problemrepresentationen och förutsatta lösningar. För att få en feministisk inriktning på teoriramverket har vi även använt Carole Pa-teman’s ”The sexual contract”. Rapporten visar på en konservativ syn på kvinnor och män och hur sexuella brott behandlas i och efter konflikten. Den feministiska utgångspunkten påminner om den förutsatta neutraliteten hos mannen och att sexuella brott mot kvinnor i krig är en olycklig händelse i krig. Dessutom så är rapporten snarare individbaserad med kortsiktigt per-spektiv och glömmer ta in större samhälleliga komplikationer med långsiktiga effekter som dessa brott har. (Less)

- The conflict in Jugoslavia during the first half of the 1990s induced a further discussion con-cerning sexual crimes and the subject of ethnic cleansning. Within the UN the discussion spawned the Security Council Resolution 780 which later became the "Final Report of the Commission of Experts Established Pursuant to Security Council Resolution 780". The report is the subject of this essay and tells of a diverse range of topics withing the spectre of clear and dubious criminal actions. - The conflict in Jugoslavia during the first half of the 1990s induced a further discussion con-cerning sexual crimes and the subject of ethnic cleansning. Within the UN the discussion spawned the Security Council Resolution 780 which later became the "Final Report of the Commission of Experts Established Pursuant to Security Council Resolution 780". The report is the subject of this essay and tells of a diverse range of topics withing the spectre of clear and dubious criminal actions. We have primarily focused on the sexual assaults and ethnic cleansing, and narrowed the main area to Bosnia. We have used Carole Bacchis "What is the problem represented to be?' which is a discourse analysis consisting of both method and theo-ry. It focuses on the representation of a problem and the apparent solutions. Besides the Bac-chi theory we've expanded the theoretical framwork with Carole Pateman's "The Sexual Con-tract" to give the study a feministic orientation. The report shows a conservative view of how to treat crimes of sexual character and the feministic viewpoint explains it through the presup-posed neutrality of the man. It speaks of crimes of sexual nature against women but treats these crimes and assumed solutions like it was an unfortunate occurence in war against indviduals instead of taking in the greater societal complications of e.g. mass rape and forced pregnancy.
