- Abstract
- The interpreter salesman
An organization’s staff represent the brand by being the outward face toward the customers. But in order to do it they need to have an idea about the organization’s values and what it stands for. Previous research in internal branding communications doesn’t take on a fully holistic stance regarding how various internal and external factors affect the staff’s impress- ions of the organization. The study’s purpose is to examine how staff form their impressions of the organization they work for and how these views affect the staff’s representation of the brand in their everyday work. Our methodological approach is a qualitative case study of two local Telia stores. The method of gathering empirical data comprises... (More) - The interpreter salesman

Our methodological approach is a qualitative case study of two local Telia stores. The method of gathering empirical data comprises of interviews with sa- lesmen and the respective store managers. The study’s results show that the staff form their impressions of their organization through a complex interplay between internal and external factors, where both conscious and subconscious variables play vital parts. Representation of the brand is enhanced when the staff experience their impressions of the organization as genu- inely acted out by the organization toward both employees and customers.
(Less)
