- Abstract
- The purpose of this study was to further investigate whether the national funda-mental values have been implemented in the different municipalities’ goals for the elderly care and how this was followed-up and evaluated, in order to achieve a deepened knowledge of how the different municipalities worked with their own quality assurance within this particular field of practice. In order to answer our research problem we have conducted a quantitative content-analyze of guideline documents for the Swedish elderly care. In order to answer our research problem we have conducted a quantitative content-analyze of guideline documents for the Swedish elderly care. Our study has been processed in two different municipality groups. Collection of documents were made partly through dir¬ect e-mail correspondence and partly through different municipalities’ official web¬pages. In our analyze we describe a possible understanding of similarities and differences between the different groups of municipalities, based on theoretical starting points, “new” institutionalism and implementation-theory. For processing our material we chose to use the statistical software SPSS. We conducted biva-riate analyzes with chi-squared tests to investigate significant differences between the groups. Results showed us that there were no larger significant varia¬tions between the groups of municipalities regarding implementations of the nat¬io¬nal fundamental values and that there was no clear evidence for internal follow-ups and evaluation of the national fundamental values of elderly care.
Keywords: elderly care, national fundamental values, quality, implementation, follow-up, evaluation. (Less)
