BIM - ett värdeskapande och ekonomiskt fördelaktigt arbetssätt år 2015 : En fallstudie över användandet av BIM år 2015 med hänsyn till mängdavtagning

Abstract

Purpose:
The primary purpose is to demonstrate that constructors, which use BIM, contributes to a more efficient work and economic value to the process of construction projects. This, by showing that a fundamental use of BIM in "quantity take-off” is a financial gain.
Furthermore, the study aims to evaluate how projects affected by the extent of BIM-use is in current situation. Additionally, the secondary purpose is to show that, when applied correctly, the projects integrated with BIM results in better quality. With a lower cost and reduced project time than at a traditional approach.

Method:
This study was conducted as a case study of the use of quantity take-off through BIM in the year of 2015. Semi-structured interviews, together with superficial observations, are used as a method to get at deeper understanding of value-creating by using BIM in construction projects. The number of interviews conducted, including observations, is 14.

Conclusion:
The main conclusion is that the empirical evidence from the survey does not provide a conclusive argument that current way of using BIM-orientated quantity take-off creates value or is financially beneficial for a construction project. Depending on the survey, which did not study the use of all moments that is affected by BIM.
The analysis of generating and use of models, design for quantity take-offs, provides a positive ROI of 23 %. A figure, which, according to theories, are normal for this process. This indicates that the use of BIM is value creating and economically beneficial.
The process of making a model cannot exclusively take account to walls, windows and doors. However, the quantity take-off makes a positive ROI. This provides a strong indication that BIM as a tool, in current way of using, creates value and financially beneficial in a wider context.

Målformulering:
Examensarbetet primära mål är att påvisa att de byggentreprenörer som arbetar med BIM bidrar till ett effektivare arbetssätt och ekonomiskt mervärde. Detta genom att visa att en fundamental BIM-nytta såsom mängdavtagning är en ekonomisk vinning.

Syfte:
Syftet är att påvisa attmängdavtagningav väggar, bärande samt rumsbildande, inklusive dörrar och fönster via BIM är ett ekonomiskt fördelaktigt och värdeskapande arbetssätt i byggprojekt år 2015. Om så är fallet kan detta bidra till att påvisa att BIM är en ekonomisk fördelaktig och värdeskapande metodik även i ett bredare sammanhang inom byggprocessen.

Metod:
Denna studie genomförs som en fallstudie över användandet av mängdavtagning via BIM år 2015. Semistrukturerade intervjuer, tillsammans med korta riktade observationer, används som metod för att få en djupare förståelse för väderskapandet av att använda BIM inom byggprojekt. De intervjuer som genomförts, där observationer inkluderats, är 14 till antalet.

Slutsats:
Författaren anser att den huvudsakligaslutsatsen är att de empiriska bevisen från undersökningen inte ger ett avgörande bevis för att BIM-orienterad mängdavtagning, i dagsläget, är värdeskapande och ekonomiskt fördelaktig. Detta då undersökningen inte behandlar alla moment, som påverkas i ett projekt som använder BIM, utan är begränsad till enbart mängdavtagning.
Analysen av arbetstid som används för att generera och använda modeller, anpassade för mängdavtagning via BIM, ger ett positivt ROI på 23 %. En siffra som, enligt teorierna, anses normal för detta moment. Siffran påvisar att mängdavtagning är ett värdeskapande och ekonomiskt fördelaktigt arbetssätt.
Då uppförande av modellen inte kan enbart ta hänsyn till väggar, fönster och dörrar. Hela modellen är medräknad i en kostnad. Samtidigt som mängdavtagning ger ett positivt ROI med detta. Författaren anser att detta är en stark indikator till att BIM som verktyg, i den utsträckning det arbetasmed det idag, kan varavärdeskapande och ekonomisktfördelaktigt i ett större sammanhang.
