- Abstract (Swedish)

(Less) - Abstract
- This essay was written at the behest of pharmaceutical company QPharma. The essay investigates the application of statistical process control (SPC) for one of QPharmas pharmaceutical products. The essay includes a thorough literature review focusing on the theory behind SPC. With the help of the theoretical background SPC is then applied to data collected by QPharma. Normal probability plots are used to ascertain whether normal distribution applies to the respective critical parameters investigated. Additionally, the parameters are also studied from a time series perspective.

Additionally, the parameters are also studied from a time series perspective.
We find that the material largely follows normal distribution meaning that SPC can be applied without transformations. There are parameters that are not in statistical control, as well as singular cases where the processes are not capable. The control points for all parameters are within specification limits, which are used as a requirement for acceptable levels by QPharma.
The ACF and PACF for each time series reveal that all series are stationary. The time series are investigated as to whether they may be AR(p)- or MA(q)-processes. Both AR(1) and MA(1) exist. (Less)
