Abstract
The aim of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of a mindfulness-based intervention for people with psychosis. Ten participants with psychosis participated in an eight week mindfulness program. The participants were assessed at baseline and after finishing the program. Results from the study indicated that the program showed improved capacity for mindfulness, measured with Five Facets of Mindfulness Questionnaire (FFMQ). There was no significant difference between pre- and posttest scores in clinical functioning measured with Clinical Outcomes in Routine Evaluation – Outcome Measure (CORE OM). Results indicated that there were also no significant differences in self-compassion, measured with Self-Compassion Scale - Short Form (SCS... (More)

Results indicated that there were also no significant differences in self-compassion, measured with Self-Compassion Scale - Short Form (SCS SF) between pre- and posttest. The study did however point in a promising direction with a potential use of a mindfulness-based intervention for people with psychotic disorders for improving the ability of mindfulness. Results should be interpreted with caution due to a small sample. (Less)
