- The purpose of this paper is to answer the question concerning NATO and how it has changed after the end of the Cold War. To correctly analyse these conflict in the context of NATO we will use security theory Securitization and the broader definition of security to investigate how NATO has changed after the collapse of the Soviet Union. Our conclusion is that in the context of security a lot has changed for NATO, the world is a lot different than it was during the Cold War and NATO has changed with it. The focus then was on state centred security... (More)

Our conclusion is that in the context of security a lot has changed for NATO, the world is a lot different than it was during the Cold War and NATO has changed with it. The focus then was on state centred security and now it has changed towards a more humanitarian focus, and the focus in the context of security is now much more centred on humanitarian security and terrorism.
