Abstract
The aims with this study were twofold. First, to make a general inventory of the views on the LGBTQ community of young people in a big city in Sweden. Second, to test our hypothesis that the views on people in the LGBTQ community differ depending on the respondent’s gender, religion and social class. The results confirmed our hypothesis by showing that the three factors did affect the respondent’s attitude toward sexual minorities. The factor that had the biggest impact was gender, since more women than men showed a positive attitude towards sexual minorities. The results for the factor religion confirmed the hypothesis that people without a religion would hold more positive views toward sexual minorities than people who were religious.... (More)

The results showed that the respondents’ social class, which was measured by their parent’s education levels, had the least impact on their attitudes toward sexual minorities. (Less)
