- Abstract
- A simple mathematical model has been made for the heat exchange in a freezing chamber. By this the contents of the room have been regarded as a warm and a cold mass. Equations for convection and radiation between these masses, the room air and the cooling pipes have been made from physical data. The heat transference in the articles, which is described by partial differential equations, has been approximated with ordinary differential equations. The number of states is six.

Comparative measurements have been carried out at Frigoscandia's establishments in Helsingborg. Then among others the temperatures in a warm and a cold articles and the temperature in the room were measured. A comparison between measurement results and simulation of the mathematical model shows that the course in the room can be rather well described with only a simple model. This foremost applies to the slow time constant which represents the articles.

The model can be further improved by paying attention to the dynamics in walls, floor and ceiling. It would also be possible to make an identification on the measurement data. (Less)
