In this bachelor thesis I intend to study the various forms of collaboration between performing arts institutions in Malmö and other organizations. By using arts management and cultural planning I put the study in a social science context that has roots in the cultural policies in the region. I start from a cultural sociological theory on the basis of my questions about how cooperation works.
The questions are:
• Which partnerships exist and how do they work?
• What are the benefits of partnering?
• In many cultural documents produced collaboration as a goal and as something positive and enriching for the region. Why is cultural funding and cultural strategies interested institutions to cooperate?

As a method I have used the case study, interviews and text analysis. The empirical data presented in the analysis section and is inserted into the theoretical framework. It creates a basis for reflection how cooperation can work and what profits collaboration can bring. (Less)
