- Abstract (Swedish)
Totalt samlades 175 enkäter in, varav 171 användes i tabeller, diagram och analysen. (Less) - Abstract
- The aim of this study was to investigate and compare the way girls and boys in the ninth grade of Swedish compulsory school in three cities in Skåne county, perceive events in their school environment that can be defined as sexual harassments, where either themselves or others were subjected to these harassments and their experiences of said events. A quantitative method was used in order to examine the two hypotheses that were as follows: those identifying themselves as girls notice more situations that could involve sexual harassments than those identifying themselves as boys, and those identifying themselves as girls perceive situations that could involve sexual harassments in a more negative manner than those identifying themselves as... A quantitative method was used in order to examine the two hypotheses that were as follows: those identifying themselves as girls notice more situations that could involve sexual harassments than those identifying themselves as boys, and those identifying themselves as girls perceive situations that could involve sexual harassments in a more negative manner than those identifying themselves as boys. To be able to examine the hypotheses, emails were sent to the headmasters of 29 different schools including 1787 ninth grade students in the cities of Hässleholm, Lund and Landskrona, with an inquiry to come to their schools and perform our study. In total, 175 questionnaires were collected, whereas 171 of them were used in the charts and the analysis. The result showed that in general girls noticed more situations that could involve sexual harassments than boys did, but some results were weaker than others. The result also showed that there was a minor difference in general between boys and girls, concerning how they perceived situations that could involve sexual harassments, but that in each case there was a slightly bigger proportion of the girls that thought the presented events felt unpleasant. Consequently, none of the hypotheses could neither be proven nor rejected. (Less)
