Abstract
This study examines different views on digital teaching materials presented in a selection of articles in journals concerning teaching. Using Stephen E. Toulmin's model of argumentation a representative selection of articles is examined and discussed. From the articles two main positions can be identified. One position is enthusiastic and sees endless possibilities. The other is sceptical and fears loss of bildung, continuity and control. It can be argued that both positions are an expression of existential... (More)

It can be argued that both positions are an expression of existential desperation. This study contributes to a deeper understanding of teachers as a target group for the publishing houses but also identifies a further need for research and discussion regarding the implications and potentials of digital media in the educational system.
