Jungle Fever: Strategies and Consequences of Activism in the Amazonian Region
(2017) HEKK02 20162Human Ecology
- Abstract
- The title of my thesis is "Jungle Fever", it aims to investigate the circumstances under which an unusual degree of violence can be used toward activists in the Amazonian region. In my study i looked at both historical factors as well as recent reports from the area which resulted in a conclusion that the pressure, not the least in economic forms, in combination with an absent judicial system creates a lawless region where power holders can do as they please.
