- This thesis focuses on the exchange of experience, knowledge and strategies between local social movements resisting large scale mining projects. While the exchanges between local movements and supralocal movements, international organizations and NGOs has been studied, less attention is payed to the role of collaborations between local movements themselves. A case study based on fieldwork and interviews has been conducted among social movements in Tolima (Colombia) resisting a large scale gold mining project. - This thesis focuses on the exchange of experience, knowledge and strategies between local social movements resisting large scale mining projects. Special attention is giving to the role of experience, knowledge and strategies of other local movements in disproving the narratives of the mining company and meaning making. The experience, knowledge and strategies from other social movements has enabled social movements of Tolima to disprove and challenge the hegemonic narratives of the mining company and become producers of knowledge.
