Opgaven beskriver de danske skrivebøgers udvikling gennem 300 år fra 1579 til 1880. Det teoretiske og metodiske fundament for beskrivelsen er især Robert Darntons communication circuit og analytisk bibliografi. De ældste danske skrivebøger er såkaldte Schreibmei¬ster¬bücher, henvendt til personer der skal arbejde professionelt med skrivning. Fra slutningen af 1700-tallet er det imidlertid behovet for al-mueskolens skriveundervisning, som sætter sit præg på udviklingen af skrivebøger, dels ved udgivelsen af forskiftsbøger til brug i undervis¬ningen, dels ved pædagogiske udgivelser for skolernes skrivelærere. De ældste danske skrivebøger er såkaldte Schreibmei¬ster¬bücher, henvendt til personer der skal arbejde professionelt med skrivning. Skrivebøgerne udgør en teknisk udfordring idet det med datidens teknik oftest ikke er muligt at integrere illustrationerne af håndskriften i den typografiske tekst. Det er tydeligt at udgivelserne af skrivebøger afspejler udviklingen hen mod en skole hvor undervisningen i skrivefærdigheder efterhånden bliver en fast bestanddel af den danske grundskole. Ligeledes er bogdesignet præget af en udvikling hvad angår format og skrifttypevalg, ligesom tekniske udviklinger kan ses fx ved illustrationsteknik og papirkvalitet. (Less)

The paper describes the development of the Danish writing primers through 300 years from 1579 to 1880. The theoretical and methodological basis for the description is, in particular, Robert Darnton's communication circuit and analytical bibliography. The oldest Danish specimen books are the so-called Schreibmeisterbücher, addressed to people who need to work professionally with writing. However, from the late eighteenth century, the need for teaching writing also in the primary school causes the publication, partly of copy books for teaching penmanship and partly of publications for the instruction of school teachers. The paper describes the development of the Danish writing primers through 300 years from 1579 to 1880. The theoretical and methodological basis for the description is, in particular, Robert Darnton's communication circuit and analytical bibliography. The oldest Danish specimen books are the so-called Schreibmeisterbücher, addressed to people who need to work professionally with writing. However, from the late eighteenth century, the need for teaching writing also in the primary school causes the publication, partly of copy books for teaching penmanship and partly of publications for the instruction of school teachers. The writing books represent a technical challenge, because with the technology of the time it is often not possible to integrate the illustrations of writing into the typographic text. It is obvious that the publishing of writing books reflects the development towards a school where teaching in writing skills gradually becomes a constituent part of the Danish elementary school. Similarly, the book design is characterized by a development in terms of format and font selection, as well as technical developments, for example, of illustration techniques and paper quality.
