- Abstract (Swedish)
- The relationship between the indoor environment and health is complex as people in modern societies spend more than 90% of their time indoors. Long -time and follow-up assessment of indoor environmental quality is important in reference to the health and wellbeing of those who occupy space within it. Physical factors such as temperature, air drag, noise and lighting affect our health and well-being.
The main purpose of this survey was to do a follow-up the health state of residents in Landskrona with respect to various factors such as their indoor climate. In addition, we asked residents if they were aware of the existence of the Local Authority of Environmental Health and if so, had been in contact with the authority. As in previous... The main purpose of this survey was to do a follow-up the health state of residents in Landskrona with respect to various factors such as their indoor climate. In addition, we asked residents if they were aware of the existence of the Local Authority of Environmental Health and if so, had been in contact with the authority. As in previous environmental health surveys, 700 residents in Landskrona were asked to complete this year's survey during March-April 2017. A total of 302 persons (43%) answered the survey. The result showed that 38% of the residents had problems with moisture damage in the home and 15% of the residents had problem with mould.
While 65% of the residents were aware of the existence of the Local Authority of Environmental Health, 84% had never established contact.
The results indicate that most indoor problems were related to mould, noise or temperature and have increased compared to the last survey. In addition, health problems were more frequent in apartment buildings than in detached houses.
It is difficult to evaluate the effect of preventive inspections on the indoor environment, since the survey was sent randomly to residents in Landskrona and not only to those who were inspected during the last 5 years. (Less) - Popular Abstract
(Less)
