This essay analyses the articles written by the female magazine Frida through a qualitative content analysis. Another finding was that the woman was produced by the magazine to have a self-wish and dream of creating a ”we”, that is, marrying and creating a family, and that this ”we” was linked to success and a life goal for the woman. Without finding that someone to spend her life with she was portrayed as not “whole”. Our conclusion is that the magazine creates two contrasting ideals concerning the woman and the love relationships she chooses to enter. (Less)
