The aim of this study is to investigate whether workplace environment characteristics could be omitted in previous research and whether they contribute to a decrease of unexplained part of the gender pay gap. This study suggests that men and women are provided with workplace environment of similar quality, however, men are better compensated for being exposed to negative work environment factors. In order to achieve the aim of this study, six variables describing workplace environment were added to set of control variables and Blinder-Oaxaca decomposition was conducted. (Less)
