Abstract
CONNECT is an interactive meeting point were people, as strangers, lovers or friends have the chance to interact with each other.
The project has strong connections to philosophical ideas, and interfaces with my personal reflections and the thoughts of an external audience.

It questions social structures in the design world and within ourselves by standing out as an experience rather than a product. Observations of how people interact in public spaces led to the development of an installation that encourages and investigates eye-contact between two participants.

The aim of the project is to expand people’s minds and ability to be present and thankful. It questions social structures in the design world and within ourselves by standing out as an experience rather than a product. Observations of how people interact in public spaces led to the development of an installation that encourages and investigates eye-contact between two participants.
The platform consists of one table and two chairs indicating interaction between two people. Pulse sensors and connected headphones allow the subjects to hear each other’s heartbeats. A lot of chemical and physical reactions take place in our bodies while looking into someone else’s eyes. CONNECT captures that moment and displays how much of an impact we can make by doing small gestures to each other. (Less)
