How do site managers experience the psychosocial work environment today and what measures can be taken for a better psychosocial work environment? Purpose: The purpose of this work is to investigate how the role as a site manager is experienced today and how to work towards a better psychosocial work environment to promote the mental and physical health of the site managers. Method: In this thesis, information is gathered based on qualitative studies consisting of a case study at a company using semi-structured interviews. Various research theories have also been developed for an in-depth knowledge in the field to provide the basis for the analysis and conclusion together with empirical evidence. The collection of data is based on electronic sources, literature, articles and interviews. Conclusions: The experienced psychosocial working environment of the site managers is broadly positive, on the other hand, there are essential aspects that need to be improved to promote their working situation. These are; more efficient allocation of resources, better planning in both the early and construction stages to reduce stress, and to change the conditions of the site manager’s responsibility for the work environment. Keywords: Site manager, psychosocial work, leadership, stress, coping, workload, division of labour (Less)
