Media has the power to influence people, norms and values in society. It is therefore important to identify the discourse these three Swedish newspapers are sending out to the people in a week when international women's day is held in 2017. This study has shown that both women and men are portrayed according to their gender effects; women primarily for their appearance and men mostly after their performance, in line with previous research. The study also shows that women do not receive the same amount of space as men in the newspapers. (Less)
